With an aim to maximize & automate the productivity and work flow of the Department process, Homeopathy department made an agreement with keltron to develop a Web based application Homoeopathy information management system (Software automation & management system) in 2012. The main modules planned are to automate the functionalities of Hospital Statistics, Medicine Stock Management and Distribution, Medical Camps Management, Fund allocation and Utilization, Asset Management, Communication Management. Department of Homoeopathy conducted different meeting for reviewing the development of AHiMS with members of Keltron.
Major milestones are
1. Development of AHiMS Software
a. Department started running the software on test basis on April 2019
pilot basis on November 2019 at Kasaragod and utility mode since April 2020
b. Implemented all modules from April 2020 ad reports are being generated
c. Domain registered- https//ahims.kerala.gov.in
d. Hosted @ state data centre
2. Training
a. Both offline & Online
b. Online video presentation and hard copy of working manual are also made available
3. Support assistance
a. AHiMS coordinator and IT cell convenor was given the charge of state admins
b. 14 District admins also given charges of troubleshooting for district level streamlining of data collection
c. Reported system bugs are reported to Keltron and fixed time to time
4. User friendliness
a. The user-friendliness of the software enabled data collection from non-formally trained NHM and SCP dispensaries and Regular institutions of other Districts.
b. The software can be accessed through android mobile phone using desktop site setting.

6. Advantages
a. Date collection and Reports are generated with all modules.
b. Software is enabled for data collection of Regular, NHM(APHC) and SCP institutions
c. Software enhanced streamlining of field data, to save time & information without delay in compiling at Institution/District / State level.
d. Saving Money – It also serves to reduce the monthly consumption of paper, usage of printers ( if we consider average monthly cost for furnishing monthly statements including postal charge as 80/ institution , department is saving more than RS 80,000 per month)
7. Future
a. In 2021-22, AHiMS is being upgraded with citizen friendly appointment management system and developing scope of all other modules along with mobile application.
